Songs for Zinging Lovers: An interview with The Indelicates

ILB has never hidden its adoration for The Indelicates. “American Demo”, a bucket of bile frozen and carved into something truly beautiful, is a top 10 album of the 00s around these parts, and when it comes to the noble art of trolling, for us they rank just below TISM and just above those 4Chan kids who send pizzas round to the houses of teenagers who’ve just committed suicide. The new Indelicates album, “Songs for Swinging Lovers”, is out Monday, and “Sympathy for the Devil”, its lead street single, has a video as seen above, notable for a) how it kinda sounds like The Pogues if you take the vocals off b) the tapdancing bit which feels like something from The Harry Hill Show circa 1998 c) Julia’s outfit, which caused us to spend around 15 minutes trying to find the appopriate gif from Friday to insert into this review. Here it is:

Anyway, we have actually interviewed The Indelicates, and we hereby present to you the end results. Enjoy. Read more…

Music might not be entirely dreadful in 2010 part 2: The Indelicates – Songs for Swinging Lovers

With the possible exception of Los Campesinos! (mainly because they are the only band who yet have gone to bat for the ILB brand identity of playing Football Manager whilst downloading from PWTorrents), The Indelicates are our favourite band of the past half-decade. Enjoy after the jump: Read more…

One of the items we’ve ummed and erred about bringing you at ILB is the “Indiechick Top 20 Would Smash List”. This would basically be an excuse to paraphrase Chris Wallace with regards to the lass from Slow Club: “Girl, you look so good, I’d suck on your effeminate and slightly anaemic-looking bandmate’s dick”. The Indelicates’ debut album, “American Demo”, is one of ILB’s top 20 LPs of the decade. We get the feeling nobody else likes them, being as they are basically two trolls, one of whom wants to be Luke Haines and the other one who looks like the chick who does the “Real Life Photo Drama” spoofs in Viz. But we hold them very close to our hearts here at ILB. Read more…

One of the most commonly asked questions amongst me and fellow failed music hacks who keep a piece of shit blog with 200 readers a day is: why The Guardian? Why are you wasting the bandwith of WordPress, Blogspot and the hosting company of the message board you spend five hours a day on by pissing and moaning about Rosie Swash/Tony Naylor/that one racist broad who edits Rwd?
