The disinterested ILB end of year rundown: prelude

OK, look, I’m 27, have the hairline of someone who is 37, and have come to realise maybe I’m too old for this shit. In 2010, I may give trying to keep fastiduously up-to-date with what’s happening in music. In 2009, that didn’t happen. I blame Spotify. I now have access to hundreds of songs by Spade Cooley or Hank Snow or Marty Robbins or Andres Segovia at the push of a button. Is there really any chance I will find more enjoyment in “Dirty Projectors” or “The XX” than “The Hanging Tree“? Like fuck is there.

So anyway, we managed to kinda enjoy maybe 20 songs that were actually released in 2009. Over the next week, we’re gonna count them down with no enthusiasm whatsoever, because you’ll still click through on Google Reader because you’re apes, basically. Enjoy. We may even throw some MP3s because Googlers are good people.
