It’s basically a vicious cycle. You start to lose interest in modern music. You begin to focus your energies on the artists you liked ten years ago. Then they release shitty albums in the modern era, leaving you even more disgusted with contemporary music, and return to your albums by… the guys who just disappointed you. Actually, the new MOP album isn’t shitty, just incredibly dull. The Busta one is fucking awful though. Actually ending it with that one song they did with Linkin Park just seems like salt in a bleeding vagina.

I dunno if you bother keeping up with the crazy world of rap blogs, but amongst the paler sections of those fine institutions, there’s a clamour for the new Eminem album. Not anticipation, not excitement, but just the desperate urge for it to not be fucking awful. It’s not out of any great love for the boy Mathers, or ardent fanboyism, but more a desire for things to be “as they were”. I think it’s the same with Busta for me.
