Dear content farmers of the internet: maybe you’re on the look out for something that has high traffic potential, but also allows you to build your brand by cyberbullying a marginalised aspect of society? If so, I’ve got just the thing for you. Here is 12 minutes of one man unboxing various My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Happy Meal toys before enacting a little play scene with them. It took me a good 15 minutes to summon up the strength to carry on watching this after he storms to the front desk and demands he gets four different toys, but I feel like struggling on through has made me a stronger person and perhaps given me a greater insight into the worst minds of our generation.

I really have no interest in the 30 day song challenge

Is it too soon to have nostalgia for the “25 Random Things About Me” craze of 2008? Being as it was around the time Facebook became ever-present in our lives it managed to get itself a little bit of mainstream media coverage. Its spiritual successor, the “30 Day Song Challenge”, appears to be getting no similar love though. Which is weird, because if I was a spiritually bankrupt editor of a broadsheet newspaper music section right now I’d be asking every single buzzband musician offered to me to fill those 30 songs in and making it part of our Friday supplement right now.

We missed out on Sheenageddon (our one idea was a parody of those “Sheen quotes over pictures of x” virals that sprang up on Tumblr by doing Sheen quotes over, say, aerial shots of Droylsden or images of the Aberfan mining tragedy). So instead, we wanna talk for a few seconds on that “racist Americans go ‘lol Pearl Harbour’ on Facebook” viral that’s been blowing up over the past 12 hours.
