Clinton Attache 1998: “The Impression That I Get” by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

This is my favourite genre of music ever. Goofy, awkward, chubby, effeminate, freaks geeks and weirdoes from US high schools getting together to singing fantastically earnest covers of contemporary pop smashes. The first one is probably the best thing you’ll hear all year: a gang of dramafags dressed like circus masters turning a ska punk song about waiting for the results of an AIDS test into an On The Town-style sailor singalong. It’s heroic, especially the “bop-ba-bop” breakdown. I have no idea why there are stepladders on the stage.

The rest of the songs listed after the cut don’t match up to the standards set by Clinton Attache, but they’re easily, ooooh, 9.7/10 the lot of them. As a mark of respect for you the reader, I won’t include unfunny shit zings after each video, mainly because these things do speak for themselves. Although when it comes to the canary yellow dress-wearing chick in the “Toxic” video, I believe the phrase is “Rather fuck her than fight her”.
